Directions to Bolsover Tip
The HWRC site is located to the west of Bolsover, quite close to the M1 motorway. However, the tip isn’t directly accessible from the M1, instead you’ll need to approach from one of the following directions.
From Bolsover
If you’re heading to this dump site from Bolsover of further east, you can head to Bolsover and leave on the A632. Let’s start in the middle from Town End, onto the A632 Station Road. Follow the road out of town, and you’ll pass the castle high on your left (in the summer it may be obscured by trees).
As you almost reach the bottom of the hill, turn right onto Woodhouse Lane, signed ‘Northgate Access’ for the HWRC. Follow the road all the way to the end, and you’ll reach a T junction with Buttermilk Lane and Chesterfield Road.
Turn left, and continue to the roundabout, remaining on the B6418. Stay on Buttermilk Lane at the next roundabout too, and a little way further along the B6418 you’ll see a left turn onto Meadow House Way to access the Bolsover dumpit site.
From Chesterfield
If you’re heading from the direction of Chesterfield, you’ll want the A632 eastbound, passing through Calow and Arkwright. Continue to follow the signs for the A632 towards Bolsover, passing the Arkwright Arms public house on your left.
Pass a Co-op garage on your right, and continue straight ahead at the lights over the M1. At the next roundabout, you’ll see the HWRC site signed as ‘Recycling Centre’ on the second exit towards Clowne and Shuttlewood on the B6418. That’s Buttermilk Lane, and the tip is a few yards along from the roundabout on the right hand side.
From The M1
If you’re arriving from the motorway, you can join the same route by leaving at Junction 29A. If you’re on the M1 southbound carriageway, take the first exit at junction 29A, or for northbound, take the fourth exit, signposted A6192 towards Chesterfield, Bolsover and Markham Vale. You’ll pass under the motorway and continue straight ahead at the roundabout.
From either M1 carriageway you’re now on the same route, turning right at the roundabout in front of the Great Bear warehouse onto Markham Lane, signed Bolsover A6192. Take the third exit at the next roundabout to stay on the A6192 towards Bolsover.
Continue to another roundabout, taking the first exit towards Clowne and Shuttlewood onto the B6418 Buttermilk Lane. Finally, turn right to find the tip, accessed via Meadow House Way.
