- Gedling
- Mansfield
- Newark and Sherwood

Nottinghamshire Bin Colours
As we’ve built this site, it’s become clear that there’s very little consistency between regions, leading to a lot of confusion about the bin colours used in a given area. As a result, there are a few roads in the UK where neighbours fall under different councils, and use different coloured bins for different waste!
In Nottinghamshire, it’s one example of varying bins. Here’s a table to give you the information you need:
General Waste | Plastic Bottles | Glass Bottles & Jars | Metal Cans | Paper/Card | |
Ashfield | Red lid | Green lid | Blue lid | Green lid | Green lid |
Bassetlaw | Green | Blue | None | Blue | Blue |
Broxtowe | Black lid | Green lid | Red lid or glass bag | Green lid | Green lid |
Gedling | Black | Green | Glass box | Green | Green |
Mansfield | Green | Blue lid | Teal lid | Blue lid | Blue lid |
Newark and Sherwood | Green | Silver | Glass bin | Silver | Silver |
Nottingham City | Green | Brown (grey lid) | Brown (grey lid) | Brown (grey lid) | Brown (grey lid) |
Rushcliffe | Grey | Blue | None | Blue | Blue |
